Deb was asked to speak at the 2004 MPI (Meeting Professionals International) Winter Conference. Her customized sessions were so well received that she is now among an elite class of professionals: the Platinum Speakers for MPI.

Deb’s been very fortunate in recent months to be interviewed and quoted in Bottom Line, Fortune, PGA Magazine, MarieClaire, and Redbook, to name but a few. She is also a contributing columnist for Golf Magazine and Golf for Women.

Whether being quoted in magazines, appearing as a guest on radio or TV, or speaking live in front of audiences, Dr. Deborah Bright takes an inspirational and meaningful look at what it takes to improve performance… a subject that never goes out of style.

Dr. Deborah Bright is the founder and president of Bright Enterprises, Inc., a consulting firm whose sole mission is the design of human technologies for enhanced performance. Sought-after for its expert-driven, customized presentations, workshops, and licensed programs, Bright Enterprises includes in its list of ongoing clients Chase Bank, the New York Stock Exchange, ITT, Raytheon, Disney, and State Farm, to name but a few. Once ranked among the top ten U.S. women divers, Deb’s career in platform and springboard Olympic competition ended suddenly when doctors discovered retinal tears in both eyes. Were she to continue, blindness would be the inevitable result.  Deborah then used the experiences of her years in competitive diving as the foundation of her insights into the architecture underlying individual performance. In the years that followed, she emerged as a nationally recognized expert in the fields of stress management, communication skills, management and leadership development, and the intangible ingredients behind exceptional performance.

Besides appearing on national television and radio, including the Phil DonahueShow, Regis and Kathie Lee, and Bloomberg Radio, Dr. Bright frequently appears as the keynote speaker at national conferences and meetings of business executives sponsored by World Business Council, the Young Presidents Organization, Meeting Professionals International, NBAA, and CPCU.

Deborah's sports background has helped her train athletes from the U.S. Tennis Association and major league baseball teams. She also works closely with the Professional Golfers' Association of America and Tournament Players Clubs, helping professional golfers to improve both their competitive focus and management skills. Off the greens, Deborah coaches executives one-on-one on how best to lead in today's rapidly changing business environment.

Deborah Bright received her doctorate in education from Arizona State University. She has served on the faculty of New York University, and is currently a fellow at the American Institute of Stress. As a best-selling author, Deborah has published numerous books, including Creative Relaxation: Turning Your Stress into Positive Energy, Criticism in Your Life, Gearing up for the Fast Lane: New Tools for Management in a High-Tech World, and the best-selling Official Criticism Manual.

Her newest book, On the Edge and In Control: A Proven 8-Step Program for Taking Charge of Your Life, serves as a practical and effective guide for both managers and employees because it articulates clearly what it takes to rise above the forces of mediocrity.
